Diese Woche f\u00fchrte uns die Protect Pouches European Tour ins Herz der EU-Politikgestaltung und wir brachten die Stimmen der Europ\u00e4er mit, die einfach mit dem Rauchen aufh\u00f6ren wollen, ohne daf\u00fcr bestraft zu werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Von Coffee Bikes zu Korridoren der Macht<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
In den vergangenen Wochen haben wir in Paris, Stockholm, Prag, Warschau und Berlin Kaffee und Zimtschnecken serviert und Geschichten von ganz normalen Menschen gesammelt, die dank Nikotinbeuteln mit dem Rauchen aufgeh\u00f6rt haben. Jetzt, in Br\u00fcssel, haben wir diese Geschichten direkt ins Europ\u00e4ische Parlament getragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wir haben den Abgeordneten und ihren Assistenten Informationsbl\u00e4tter und Erfahrungsberichte aus dem echten Leben \u00fcberreicht. Die Botschaft war einfach: Verwechseln Sie Beutel nicht mit Zigaretten, \u00fcberbesteuern Sie sie nicht und berauben Sie die Europ\u00e4er nicht des wirksamsten verf\u00fcgbaren Instruments zur Schadensminderung.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Die Eins\u00e4tze in Br\u00fcssel<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Derzeit stehen zwei wichtige politische Ma\u00dfnahmen auf dem Tisch:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
Der Herz-Kreislauf-Gesundheitsplan<\/strong>: Derzeit besteht die Gefahr, Nikotinbeutel als \u201ekardiovaskul\u00e4re Risikofaktoren\u201c einzustufen. Das w\u00e4re ein wissenschaftlicher Fehler und eine Katastrophe f\u00fcr die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Die Tabakverbrauchssteuerrichtlinie (TED)<\/strong>: k\u00f6nnte auf Beutel Steuern in Zigarettenh\u00f6he erheben und so die Menschen davon abhalten, mit dem Rauchen aufzuh\u00f6ren. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Beide Strategien ignorieren, was Schweden bereits bewiesen hat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n
5,61 TP4T t\u00e4gliches Rauchen<\/strong> \u2013 der niedrigste in Europa. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
44% weniger Todesf\u00e4lle durch Tabak<\/strong> als der EU-Durchschnitt. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Niedrigste Lungenkrebsinzidenz in Europa<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Niedrigere Herzkrankheits- und Schlaganfallraten<\/strong> als die Nachbarl\u00e4nder. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Wenn der Rest Europas dem schwedischen Modell folgen w\u00fcrde, 3,5 Millionen Menschenleben<\/strong> k\u00f6nnten im n\u00e4chsten Jahrzehnt eingespart werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unsere Treffen im Parlament<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Im Parlament trafen wir uns mit Abgeordneten und APAs aller Fraktionen. Die Reaktionen waren einheitlich: Neugier, \u00dcberraschung \u00fcber die Daten und Anerkennung f\u00fcr die von uns vorgelegten Beweise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jedes Gespr\u00e4ch entwickelte eine klare Frage: Bestrafen Sie Menschen nicht daf\u00fcr, dass sie mit dem Rauchen aufh\u00f6ren.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Br\u00fcssel: Neue Mauern einrei\u00dfen<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n
So wie Berlin uns daran erinnert hat, was es bedeutet, Mauern einzurei\u00dfen, erinnert uns Br\u00fcssel daran, was es bedeutet, sie zu errichten. Hier debattieren die Regulierungsbeh\u00f6rden \u00fcber neue Barrieren, h\u00f6here Steuern, pauschale Verbote und angstbasierte Klassifizierungen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doch Mauern sch\u00fctzen nicht die \u00f6ffentliche Gesundheit. Sie fangen die Menschen beim Rauchen ein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europa hat die Wahl:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bauen Sie neue Mauern der Regulierung auf, die Raucher gefangen halten. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
Oder \u00f6ffnen Sie T\u00fcren zu saubereren, rauch- und tabakfreien Alternativen und retten Sie Leben.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
In Br\u00fcssel haben wir daf\u00fcr gesorgt, dass die politischen Entscheidungstr\u00e4ger die Stimme der Bev\u00f6lkerung h\u00f6rten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
