Oui, cette Islande-l\u00e0. Ce m\u00eame pays qui fonctionne \u00e0 l&#039;\u00e9nergie g\u00e9othermique et qui transf\u00e8re ses g\u00e8nes dans des bases de donn\u00e9es publiques se sent soudain tr\u00e8s\u2026 ann\u00e9es 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je sais ce que vous pensez : \u00ab L\u2019Islande, de tous les pays, est s\u00fbrement en train d\u2019adopter des alternatives \u00e0 la nicotine plus s\u00fbres, n\u2019est-ce pas ? \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Et bien non.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un nombre croissant de d\u00e9put\u00e9s islandais <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icelandreview.com\/news\/mp-calls-for-greater-regulation-of-nicotine-products-in-iceland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poussent<\/a> Pour un contr\u00f4le plus strict des sachets de nicotine \u2013 incluant l&#039;interdiction de vente aux mineurs (amende), des restrictions publicitaires (compr\u00e9hensibles), mais aussi\u00a0: un emballage neutre, des restrictions sur la vente au d\u00e9tail et des limitations strictes sur la force des sachets. En d&#039;autres termes, une interdiction lente et bureaucratique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vous vous demandez probablement : \u00ab Attendez, mais l\u2019Islande n\u2019est-elle pas l\u2019une des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s les plus innovantes d\u2019Europe ? \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exactement. C&#039;est ce qui rend la situation si \u00e9trange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alors que des pays comme la Su\u00e8de s&#039;orientent vers un statut sans tabac gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des produits de r\u00e9duction des risques comme les sachets, l&#039;Islande semble pr\u00eate \u00e0 marquer une pause, voire \u00e0 revenir en arri\u00e8re. En attendant, les cigarettes restent l\u00e9gales. L\u00e9gales et mortelles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Faisons le calcul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taux de tabagisme chez les jeunes en Islande <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/health\/Country-Health-Profiles-2023-Iceland-EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sont en panne.<\/a> C&#039;est bien. Et au lieu de l&#039;encourager, les l\u00e9gislateurs veulent r\u00e9glementer ces produits comme s&#039;il s&#039;agissait de dynamite aromatis\u00e9e aux bonbons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Je sais ce que vous pensez maintenant : \u00ab Mais ne veulent-ils pas simplement prot\u00e9ger les enfants ? \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bien s\u00fbr. Nous aussi. C&#039;est pourquoi nous soutenons les restrictions d&#039;\u00e2ge, les avertissements et les normes d&#039;ingr\u00e9dients. Mais on ne prot\u00e8ge pas les enfants en punissant les adultes. On ne lutte pas contre le tabagisme en interdisant ce qui aide \u00e0 arr\u00eater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Il ne s&#039;agit pas seulement de sachets. Il s&#039;agit de priorit\u00e9s politiques. Si l&#039;Islande veut \u00eatre le pays intelligent et avant-gardiste qu&#039;elle pr\u00e9tend \u00eatre, elle ne peut pas se laisser s\u00e9duire par les vieilles strat\u00e9gies de la prohibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Car voici la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 : lorsque vous surr\u00e9glementez les alternatives plus s\u00fbres, vous ne r\u00e9duisez pas la consommation de nicotine.
