Februari var en sp\u00e4nnande m\u00e5nad f\u00f6r Considerate Pouchers n\u00e4r vi tog v\u00e5r kampanj till Barcelonas gator. Den h\u00e4r g\u00e5ngen var vi inte bara i kontakt med lokala konsumenter \u2013 vi skickade ocks\u00e5 brev till den spanska regeringen och uppmanade dem att anta r\u00e4ttvisa regler f\u00f6r nikotinp\u00e5sar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanien f\u00f6resl\u00e5r extrema restriktioner f\u00f6r nikotinp\u00e5sar, inklusive att begr\u00e4nsa nikotinniv\u00e5erna till bara 0,99 mg per p\u00e5se och f\u00f6rbjuda alla smaker utom tobak. Dessa \u00e5tg\u00e4rder skulle utpl\u00e5na de flesta nikotinp\u00e5sar p\u00e5 marknaden, vilket g\u00f6r dem ineffektiva f\u00f6r r\u00f6kare som letar efter ett mindre skadligt alternativ. Om nikotinniv\u00e5erna \u00e4r f\u00f6r l\u00e5ga, kommer r\u00f6kare inte att byta, och ett f\u00f6rbud mot smaker tar bort ett avg\u00f6rande element som hj\u00e4lper konsumenterna att \u00f6verg\u00e5 fr\u00e5n cigaretter. Folkh\u00e4lsan vinner n\u00e4r b\u00e4ttre alternativ finns tillg\u00e4ngliga, inte n\u00e4r de begr\u00e4nsas ur existens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under v\u00e5r tid i Barcelona tr\u00e4ffade vi lokala konsumenter och skademinskningsf\u00f6respr\u00e5kare som delade sina farh\u00e5gor om dessa kommande regleringar. M\u00e5nga av dem undertecknade och personliga brev till spanska beslutsfattare, som betonade vikten av att h\u00e5lla nikotinp\u00e5sarna effektiva och beh\u00e5lla en m\u00e4ngd olika smaker. I slutet av kampanjen hade vi samlat in och skickat hundratals brev, vart och ett med ett tydligt budskap: Avvisa \u00f6verdrivna restriktioner \u2013 st\u00f6dja skademinskning!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ut\u00f6ver brevskrivningen engagerade vi oss ocks\u00e5 med allm\u00e4nheten, vilket v\u00e4ckte konversationer om skademinskning och nikotinreglering i Spanien. Responsen var \u00f6verv\u00e4ldigande positiv \u2013 m\u00e4nniskor var ivriga att l\u00e4ra sig mer, och m\u00e5nga delade med sig av sina personliga erfarenheter av att byta till p\u00e5sar som ett s\u00e4tt att minska eller sluta r\u00f6ka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Denna kampanj i Barcelona var ytterligare ett steg i v\u00e5r p\u00e5g\u00e5ende kamp f\u00f6r vettiga nikotinregleringar. Genom att f\u00f6rst\u00e4rka de verkliga konsumenternas r\u00f6ster g\u00f6r vi det klart f\u00f6r beslutsfattare att restriktiva \u00e5tg\u00e4rder bara kommer att driva m\u00e4nniskor mot mer riskfyllda alternativ eller tillbaka till r\u00f6kning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
