F\u00f6rra veckan anl\u00e4nde Protect Pouches European Tour till Warszawa med v\u00e5r kaffejetpack, kanelbullar och ett budskap som resonerar lika starkt i Polen som i hela Europa: ge konsumenterna r\u00e4tten att v\u00e4lja ett s\u00e4krare s\u00e4tt att sluta r\u00f6ka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaffe, bullar och polska ber\u00e4ttelser<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

P\u00e5 Warszawas gator pratade vi med f\u00f6re detta r\u00f6kare, kollegor och v\u00e4nner. De kom p\u00e5 kaffe och stannade kvar f\u00f6r att prata om att sluta r\u00f6ka, om att skydda sina familjer fr\u00e5n passiv r\u00f6kning och om att vilja ha en renare framtid f\u00f6r sina barn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Varje signerat vykort var ett uttalande till lagstiftarna: cigaretter \u00e4r inte cigaretter, och de f\u00e5r inte behandlas som s\u00e5dana. Polacker f\u00f6rst\u00e5r skillnaden. De lever det varje dag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polen vid en v\u00e4ndpunkt<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Polen \u00e4r ett av EU:s l\u00e4nder med flest r\u00f6kare. N\u00e4stan en av fyra vuxna r\u00f6ker fortfarande dagligen<\/strong>, med alla sjukv\u00e5rdskostnader och sjukhuss\u00e4ngar som f\u00f6ljer med det. Samtidigt finns r\u00f6kfria alternativ som p\u00e5sar kvar d\u00e5ligt f\u00f6rst\u00e5dd och <\/strong>m\u00f6ta h\u00e5rda regler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ist\u00e4llet f\u00f6r tydlighet riskerar Polen f\u00f6rvirring: f\u00f6rbud, \u00f6verbeskattning och en f\u00f6rlorad chans att r\u00e4dda liv. Sverige har redan visat v\u00e4gen: 5,6% daglig r\u00f6kning, 44% f\u00e4rre tobaksd\u00f6dsfall, de l\u00e4gsta cancerfrekvenserna i Europa<\/strong>Om Polen f\u00f6ljde efter skulle tiotusentals polska liv kunna r\u00e4ddas under det kommande decenniet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bryssel vill ha kontroll. Polacker vill ha h\u00e4lsa.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Medan polacker pratar om att sluta, \u00e4r Bryssel upptagna med att utarbeta ett Plan f\u00f6r hj\u00e4rt-k\u00e4rlh\u00e4lsa<\/strong> som otroligt nog kan lista p\u00e5sar som "riskfaktorer". Samtidigt Direktivet om punktskatt p\u00e5 tobak (TED)<\/strong> hotar att beskatta dem som cigaretter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Det \u00e4r inte h\u00e4lsopolitik. Det \u00e4r Bryssel som bygger barri\u00e4rer d\u00e4r det borde finnas broar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e5rt budskap fr\u00e5n Warszawa<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Polen har alltid varit en plats som bryter kedjor, inte bygger dem. Nu \u00e4r det dags att:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Skydda smaker och tillg\u00e5ngen f\u00f6r personer som vill sluta.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Skapa tydliga och r\u00e4ttvisa regler f\u00f6r p\u00e5sar.
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Inse att r\u00f6kfria och tobaksfria produkter \u00e4r en del av l\u00f6sningen och inte problemet.
    <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Warszawas inv\u00e5nare f\u00f6rst\u00e5r. De vet att skademinskning fungerar. Nu \u00e4r det dags f\u00f6r Bryssel, och f\u00f6r polska lagstiftare, att lyssna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
