Compare that to the EU average of 29% among young adults, and you\u2019ll see why Sweden is in a league of its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s the secret? It\u2019s not bans or fearmongering. It\u2019s a harm reduction strategy that actually works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Legal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se\/the-public-health-agency-of-sweden\/living-conditions-and-lifestyle\/andtg\/tobacco\/use-of-tobacco-and-nicotine-products\/?\">access<\/a> to nicotine pouches and snus<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Variety of flavors and strengths<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.folkhalsomyndigheten.se\/the-public-health-agency-of-sweden\/living-conditions-and-lifestyle\/andtg\/tobacco\/use-of-tobacco-and-nicotine-products\/?\">Education<\/a> over prohibition<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Risk-based taxation, not moral crusades<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The results speak for themselves:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only 3% of young Swedish adults <a href=\"https:\/\/smokefreesweden.org\/wp-content\/themes\/smokefreesweden\/assets\/pdf\/tale\/Kenya%20SFS%20Smoke%20Free%20Sweden%20comparative%20reports.pdf?\">smoke<br><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sweden <a href=\"https:\/\/smokefreesweden.org\/2024\/08\/20\/437\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">has<\/a> 41% fewer tobacco-related cancer cases than the EU average<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oecd.org\/content\/dam\/oecd\/en\/publications\/reports\/2025\/02\/eu-country-cancer-profile-sweden-2025_f01eb08d\/39c18d93-en.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">has<\/a> the lowest lung cancer rate in Europe<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And now the EU wants to punish that success with a one-size-fits-none tax hike?
