Considerate Pouchers today backed the Swedish government\u2019s formal objection<\/a> to Austria\u2019s plan to restrict snus. Sweden is defending the unique Swedish way because it is the only approach that has proven it strikes the right balance for culture and our choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Austrian proposal includes a total ban on online sales and rigid nicotine caps. This is a direct attack on the sovereignty of the individual. Considerate Pouchers warns that these policies do not eliminate nicotine use. They simply strip away freedom of choice and hand the market to unregulated criminal networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Swedish way works because they understand that striking the right balance is the only way to protect what is working,” said Juan Rafael Taborc\u00eda, spokesperson for Considerate Pouchers. “Austria\u2019s plan is not a solution. It is an attack on our rights. When you ban age verified online sales, you are not protecting people but fueling the black market.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considerate Pouchers argues that this proposal ignores the reality of the 1.5 million Swedes who have already successfully switched to smoke free alternatives and is calling for a common sense approach that prioritizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individual sovereignty:<\/strong> Respect the right of responsible adults to choose their own path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swedish Way:<\/strong> Ensure that efficient and effective regulations are not dismantled by prohibition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combating crime:<\/strong> Keep products within a regulated and safe environment to stop the black market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We do not need a crisis. We need common sense,” continued Taborc\u00eda. “Sweden has shown the world the way. We urge the Austrian Ministry to listen to the Swedish objection.
