December was a big month for Considerate Pouchers in Poland. We hit the streets of Warsaw, Wrocław, and Gdańsk to mobilize support for adult access to nicotine pouches, and the response was incredible. By the end of the campaign, we successfully collected and sent 1,000 signed postcards to Polish decision-makers, making it clear: “Don’t take away flavours from adult consumers”.
The Polish Ministry of Health has proposed harsh restrictions on nicotine pouches, including allowing only tobacco-flavored pouches, even though no such products exist in the market. They also want to restrict sales to pharmacies only, making it much harder for responsible adult consumers to access them. Additionally, the government is pushing to ban online and vending machine sales and introduce stricter regulations on packaging and communication. With 60% of Polish pouch users preferring menthol, banning flavors would push consumers toward unregulated alternatives or back to smoking.
To stand up for harm reduction and consumer choice, we engaged with consumers in Warsaw, Wrocław, and Gdańsk, gathering support and personal stories. Many people added their own messages to the postcards, emphasizing the importance of flavors and accessibility.
The outcome of this campaign has been a strong statement for consumer rights. A total of 1,000 postcards have been sent to policymakers, making it clear that real consumers want fair regulations. We recorded 25 consumer interviews, capturing personal stories on why flavors and access matter.
This campaign has proven that Polish consumers care about their right to harm reduction products. While we wait for the government’s next move, our voices are loud and clear: Nicotine pouches should be available for adults who want a safer alternative to smoking.
